My mare came to me at 13, having been without a farrier for the better part of two years. The six years since have been a constant battle of treating her for thrush, white line separation/disease, frequent abscesses, and general, recurrent bouts of lameness. We have been through 4 different farriers before Riley, without ever seeing long-lasting results.
A friend recommended CRS, and I'm so happy she did. Riley has been so patient with my mare, able to accommodate her blindness and the anxiety is causes. He determined that she has pre-clinical laminitis, and put her in his CRS shoes only a few months ago, but already, I have an entirely different horse. She walks without wincing, muscle tension that has been in her shoulders and top line is starting to relax for the first time since I met her, her soles are deepening, her white line separation is narrowing, and she got her personality back, behaving as young as the day I got her. I am beyond grateful for Riley and everything he has done for me and my mare in the short time we've known him. The amount of stress he has lifted from my shoulders cannot be underestimated! Jaime Woody (Freckles Mom) I sent my 2-year-old filly to the trainer, and after 5 rides she was lame and after 2 weeks of rest, I was told that they were at a standstill with her as her lameness was getting worse rather than better. She was diagnosed with thin soles, coffin bone chip fracture, and abscesses in both front feet. The vet hospitalized her, performed wedge resections, and put her in a box stall to rest for 6 months. After resting and being perfectly shod by any standards, my filly showed persistent lameness and behavioral issues for a year. She quit running in the pasture with the other horses. She was reluctant to move forward and would lash out at anyone who came near her. My veterinarian recommended contacting Riley Henson with CRS shoes, so I did.
Riley determined that my filly had a valgus deviation and could benefit from CRS shoes. I understood that the CRS shoes would decrease the angular stress that the regular steel shoes were causing and give her frog support, increasing blood flow to her hoof. After 1 week in the CRS shoes, my filly started running and playing in the pasture again. Riley met my horse, where she was. He was kind to her in her bitterness from the pain. I am so thankful for Riley and his CRS shoes. I put my filly back into training and hope to sort on her one day." Thank you for your time, Andrea Jackson Lyndee's owner |
